The Austro-Swiss region (ROeS) of the International Biometric Society encourages young scientists through the Arthur-Linder award.
  1. In honour of Professor Arthur Linder, a prize is awarded to promising members of the ROeS.
  2. The award is offered at the biannual ROeS meeting for outstanding research in the field of biometrics. It can be granted for excellent applied as well as theoretical research studies.
  3. The winner is to be under 35 years of age.
  4. The prize amounts to SFr. 2000, unless decided otherwise. It can also be split up among two nominees.
  5. The deadline for the nomination is May 1st prior to the biannual ROeS meeting. The application, together with an overview of the scientific career, must be submitted to the ROeS president.
  6. The jury consists of three people: the ROeS president, an Austrian member, and a Swiss member. The two ROeS members are elected every two years (a maximum of two re-elections are permitted).
  7. The work is to be peer-reviewed. At nomination, two reviewers should be proposed. If the work has already been accepted for publication by a peer-reviewed scientific journal, the (anonymous) reviews are to be included in the application.
  8. The winner is announced at the ROeS meeting. There the work shall be presented as a short report.
